Caring for your jewellery

Store your pieces in a safe, dry place when not worn to protect them from the elements of daily exposure. We recommend you do not wear your jewellery whilst swimming, showering or exercising and avoid exposure to perfumes, lotions, oils, make-up, tan, chlorine & water.

Mix a small amount of mild dish detergent with warm water in a bowl. Put the jewellery into the bowl and let sit for a few minutes. Use a soft toothbrush (like a baby tooth brush) to gently scrub the jewellery. Remove item from soapy water, rinse it and dry thoroughly with a soft polishing cloth.

You can also use a polishing kit for extra shine and to remove any tarnish. (Sometimes 9ct/10ct/14ct gold can tarnish more - particularly on earrings and the inside of rings - depending on your skin chemistry, but this is an easy fix.)

Professional cleaning is recommend at least once every 4 - 5 months to keep items looking their best. You can also bring your jewellery to us for a routine clean for a small fee.

Silver tarnishes quite quickly when it comes into contact with oxygen or certain chemicals such as chlorine.

When storing your silver jewellery, use an airtight plastic bag (like a Ziploc bag) and keep it stored in its box when you are not wearing it.

If your silver is tarnished the best way to clean it is with a jewellery polishing cloth or taking it to your local jeweller for a routine clean.
