How should I layer my necklaces?

Layering your necklaces is a great way to add even more of your personality to your jewellery collection. You should wear the necklaces that speak to you and complement each other as well as your chosen outfit. If you’re not sure where to start, here are a couple of ideas to get you started:

• Choose necklaces with different length chains - this will give you that cascading effect and allow each necklace to shine
• Combine different styles - this will add more depth to your look
• Add to your collection - by having a myriad of different necklaces to choose from, you will find it easier to layer different necklaces depending on the statement you’re trying to make

What chain length do I need?

The length of your chain will depend on your own personal preference, whether you want a long or a small necklace, as well as the types of clothing you are likely to wear with it. The most popular necklace length is the princess length (or standard) which will sit around your collarbone. A matinee will have a pendant sitting between your collarbone and decolletage and an opera should sit on or just below your decolletage. If you have a necklace that you love and want a similar chain length - simply measure it!

How do I take care of my necklace?

Whether you choose a gemstone or diamond necklace - it’s important to take care of your new jewellery item. You can do this by ensuring you remove your necklace when sleeping and exercising and by not immersing it in water. Use a toothbrush and warm soapy water to remove any residue and it’s ideal to have your necklace professionally cleaned every 4-5 months.
